The late 19th century saw the dawn of the camera, with it travelers from across Europe were able to bring back photographs of exotic lands they had visited. These were places and people Europeans had never seen before. These new discoveries swept across Europe providing a plethora of ideas to artists, writers, theatre playwrights and fashions.
